Association between stages of medial compartment osteoarthritis and three-dimensional knee alignment in the supine position: A cross-sectional study The severely osteoarthritic knee joint was flexed and the tibia was displaced posteriorly with respect to the femur. Preventing these changes in alignment would assist in the prevention and treatment of knee OA.
